Uzbekistan’s Hydrometeorological Service, Uzhydromet, has issued an urgent warning about the risk of mudflows and flash floods in foothill and mountainous areas of the country.
According to the agency, rainfall expected on March 26 and March 28–30 could trigger mudflows in several regions. These include Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions, particularly in districts located in foothill and mountainous zones, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk.
Residents of these areas, as well as holidaymakers and drivers traveling through mountainous terrain, are urged to take precautionary measures and remain vigilant.
In addition, heavy rainfall in some parts of the country may lead to the accumulation of rainwater, potentially causing localized flooding.
