Official dismissed after inappropriate behavior during zoom meeting

A video showing an official from the Department of Poverty Reduction and Employment in Samarkand region engaging in inappropriate behavior with a colleague during a Zoom meeting has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread debate. The Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment has issued a statement regarding the incident.

While the ministry did not disclose the names of the employees involved or the specific location, it confirmed that the employment contracts of the individuals mentioned in the reports had been terminated.

According to social media sources, the official in question had been serving as the head of the Department of Poverty Reduction and Employment in the Kattakurgan district since December 2023.

“The ministry adheres to the principle of absolute zero tolerance for violations of service discipline and ethics within its system,” the official statement said.

It should be recalled that on April 9, a photo of the Deputy Head of the Department of Poverty Alleviation and Employment Support of Andijan city allegedly using drugs in his office also circulated on social media, triggering public outrage. Following that incident, both the department head and deputy were dismissed.
