Javokhir Sindarov finishes Candidates Tournament unbeaten

On April 15, the final round of the Candidates Tournament, hosted in Cyprus, took place. Javokhir Sindarov, who had already secured overall victory in advance, drew his game against Chinese grandmaster Wei Yi.
The game lasted just 10 minutes, with both players agreeing to a draw on move 32. Following this result, Sindarov reached 10 points and became the first player to complete the tournament without a single defeat.
It should be recalled that on April 14, Javokhir Sindarov had already guaranteed overall victory in the tournament after drawing with Dutch grandmaster Anish Giri. He is now set to compete for the world title against India’s Gukesh Dommaraju.
It is also worth noting that following this historic result, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev called Javokhir Sindarov to personally congratulate him on his victory in the tournament.
