Father owing child support found in hotel in Jizzakh (video)

A father who owed more than 20 million soums in child support was detained while hiding in a hotel in Jizzakh region, the press service of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement reported.

According to the report, during search operations conducted by officers of the bureau’s Jizzakh regional search division, debtor A.D. was found in one of the hotels in Jizzakh city. He had booked a double room and was waiting for his “companion” when officers entered the room.

It was reported that A.D.’s child support debt had exceeded 20 million soums. He had previously been held not only administratively but also criminally liable for evading payment for the maintenance of his child.

The wanted person has now been found and handed over to a state enforcement officer of the Forish district department of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement for further enforcement actions.

Earlier, a father in Fergana who had been avoiding child support payments was jailed after being found hiding behind a curtain. Last year, men who had been evading child support payments were found under blankets at home in Kashkadarya, in home basements in Namangan and Surkhandarya, at a chicken farm in Khorezm, at a nightclub in Fergana city, at an aunt’s house in Andijan and at a grandmother’s house in Bukhara. Earlier, in Surkhandarya region, a father who had evaded paying child support for his minor child was detained at his brother’s wedding. In Andijan region, a father avoiding child support payments was found behind slate sheets in the unfinished part of his own house. In Samarkand region, a father avoiding child support payments was found inside a wardrobe. In Karmana district, Navoi region, a father who had not paid child support for two years and had accumulated 71 million soums in debt was found inside a tandoor.
