An LLC in Parkent district of Tashkent region has been exposed for attempting to resell expired medicines, the State Security Service reported.
According to the statement, officers of the State Security Service’s Tashkent regional department, together with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, conducted an inspection at a pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprise located in the “Parkent Free Economic Zone.”
As a result, investigators found 55,840 units of “Menovazin,” 25,000 units of “Hydrogen Peroxide,” 50,800 units of “Ethyl Alcohol,” as well as more than 28.27 million labels and packaging materials stored in the company’s warehouse, all of which had expired.
It was established that the suspects planned to repackage the expired medicines with falsified production dates indicating they were manufactured in 2025–2026 and then release them for sale.
In a separate case in the capital, a resident of Fergana city, born in 1987, was stopped and searched. Authorities discovered 6,597 units of 19 types of medicines, valued at approximately 763 million soums, which are prohibited from being imported into Uzbekistan.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the individual had brought the medicines from India and intended to sell them together with an associate. A search of his residence uncovered an additional 107 units of medicines worth approximately 48 million soums.
Authorities have launched investigations into both cases, and the seized medicines have been sent for forensic examination.
It is worth noting that earlier, another individual engaged in the illegal trade of potent medicines was detained in Tashkent district of Tashkent region.
