Since the beginning of this season, defender Dilshod Komilov has been playing for ’’Qizilqum.’’ However, the club’s management has decided to unilaterally terminate his contract. The reason was the player’s refusal to comply with the head coach’s decision during a Super League match against ’’Qo‘qon-1912.’’
’’Dilshod’s actions during the Super League round 21 match against Qo‘qon-1912, which were not befitting of a professional footballer, drew criticism from fans, specialists, and the wider public,’’ the club said in its official statement.

The incident occurred in the 57th minute of the Super League Round 21 match between ’’Qo‘qon-1912’’ and ’’Qizilqum.’’ Head coach Akmal Rustamov decided to substitute defender Dilshod Komilov, but the player refused to leave the pitch and continued playing despite calls from his teammates. Three minutes later, Rustamov again attempted to make the substitution, yet Komilov once more disobeyed the decision. The situation left the coach visibly frustrated. As a result, 22-year-old forward Bobomurod Bozorov, who was supposed to come on for Komilov, remained on the bench for nearly 20 minutes, while teammates and coaching staff tried to calm him down. Only in the 83rd minute did Bozorov enter the field, replacing Jaba Jigauri, while Komilov played until the final whistle.
The match ended with a 2–1 defeat for ’’Qizilqum,’’ bringing an end to the team’s seven-game unbeaten run.
Dilshod Komilov had been included in Timur Kapadze’s extended squad list for the CAFA Nations Cup 2025. The defender featured in Uzbekistan’s starting lineup during the group stage match against Turkmenistan and in the final against Iran.
