Honored journalist of Uzbekistan Abdurauf Qorjovov died

Abdurauf Qorjovov, a journalist who worked in Uzbekistan, passed away at the age of 68, as announced by the Information and Mass Communications Agency.

Born on September 21, 1956, in the Payariq district of the Samarkand region, Abdurauf Qorjovov graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at the National University of Uzbekistan in 1981.

His professional journey commenced as an editor and reporter at the "Uzbekiston ovozi" ("Soviet Uzbekistan") newspaper. From 1992 to 2019, he held various roles, including reporter, deputy editor-in-chief, editor-in-chief, deputy director, and editor-in-chief of the Uzbekistan 24 television and radio channel.

Abdurauf Garzhovov authored several books like "Yollar va manzillar (Roads and Destinations)" and "Tabiatning mo'jizaviy ehsonlari (Miracle Gifts of Nature)," along with collaborative essay collections such as "Sahro bo'm-bo'sh emas (The Desert Is Not Empty)," "Yurt farzandlari (Children of the Country)," and "Xitoy Ozbekistonliklar nigohida (China in the Eyes of the Uzbeks)."

Recognized for his contributions, he was bestowed with the title "Honored Journalist of the Republic of Uzbekistan" in 1994, as well as accolades like the "Outstanding Public Educator of Uzbekistan."

From 2020 onwards, Abdurauf Qorjovov served as a senior editor, department head, and economic commentator at the editorial office of the "Yangi Ozbekiston" newspaper.
