Starting January 16, a sharp drop in air temperatures is expected across Uzbekistan. In this regard, the Ministry of Energy has issued a warning.
According to the ministry, due to the expected decline in temperatures, Uzbekistan’s energy system will switch to an enhanced operating режим. Relevant measures are being implemented to ensure the stable functioning of the fuel and energy system during cold weather conditions. Additional technical inspections have been carried out across electricity, heating, and gas networks, and production and supply capacities have been adjusted to current conditions. Responsible services are operating around the clock.
Energy demand increases during cold weather. Temporary technical restrictions may be introduced in certain regions.
Consumers are advised to use electricity and natural gas rationally and to operate heating equipment in an energy-efficient manner. Preserving heat in residential premises not only saves energy but also helps maintain indoor warmth. Heating devices should not be left unattended, and adequate ventilation must be ensured while they are in use. Chimneys and ventilation systems should be regularly checked to ensure they are functioning properly.
To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, residents are advised not to use open flames or faulty heating devices in enclosed spaces and, where possible, to install carbon monoxide detectors.
