Drivers in Uzbekistan can now access information about their traffic violation penalty points online through the my.gov.uz portal. The update was announced on the portal’s official channels.
The service provides details such as the total accumulated penalty points, the decision number and date, and the specific article and paragraph of the Code of Administrative Responsibility on which the penalty is based.
The system for assessing traffic violations using penalty points was introduced by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 6 and came into force on June 1. According to the resolution, penalty points are assigned only for violations recorded by traffic police officers and are calculated automatically through the E-Fine module, without human intervention.
Violations detected by automated photo and video cameras will not yet result in penalty points. The issue is under review, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is expected to submit a proposal to the government once camera systems can reliably identify the driver behind the wheel at the time of the violation.
As an incentive, drivers who do not violate traffic rules for 12 consecutive months will not receive a penalty point for their first subsequent offense. Additionally, if a driver avoids further violations for six months after being penalized, two points will be deducted from their total.
If a driver accumulates 12 points within a 12-month period, the system will automatically submit the relevant documents to the court, and the driver will be notified by SMS. The court may then revoke the driver's license for a period ranging from six months to three years.
Initially, the draft resolution introducing the penalty point system was published on March 20, with public discussion scheduled until April 4. The system was originally planned to take effect on May 1, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs later clarified that the necessary legal framework was still under development. As a result, the system officially came into effect on June 1 by government decision.
