QALAMPIR.UZ has summarized some of the major changes that came into effect in Uzbekistan from December 1, 2025:
Ban on AI-80 gasoline sales and imports
Both the sale and import of AI-80 gasoline are now prohibited.
According to Aziz Abduhakimov, Chairman of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, this type of gasoline was widely used to save money but caused significant air pollution.
The ban is part of the “Uzbekistan-2030” strategy and the state program for environmental protection and green economy.
Medical check-up no longer required for marriage registration
From December 1, citizens registering a marriage with Civil Registry Offices (FHDYO) no longer need to provide medical check-up results.
The change is part of the President’s decree on improving public services and reducing bureaucratic procedures.
Other abolished requirements include:
Court documentation for divorce registration;
Recording the vehicle owner’s address in vehicle registration certificates.
Public access to environmental monitoring
The Ministry of Ecology will make its state environmental monitoring system open to the public.
Publicly available information will include:
Data on trees and seedlings planted under the “Green Space” national project;
Applications for cutting trees outside state forest lands, including details of applicants and hearings;
Violations of moratoriums on sand extraction from reservoirs;
Public hearings on planned or ongoing economic activities affecting the environment;
Results of inspections, monitoring, and enforcement actions in environmental protection;
Information on sanitation companies handling municipal solid waste, including leadership and schedules;
Details of companies using waste for alternative energy, including collection points and recycling activities.
These reforms aim to improve environmental oversight, reduce bureaucracy, and promote public participation in environmental management.
