Administrative penalties imposed on over 40,000 drivers for minor injuries

In 2024, 39,270 cases were closed against 40,119 individuals for administrative offenses related to violations of traffic rules by vehicle drivers that resulted in minor bodily injuries or significant material damage. Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court, reported this.
Administrative penalties, including fines and deprivation of driving rights, were imposed on 26,063 of these drivers.
In 2024, Uzbekistan recorded 9,364 road accidents, leading to 2,203 fatalities and 8,901 injuries.
It is also worth noting that more than 30,000 drivers were fined and sentenced to prison for driving under the influence in Uzbekistan in 2024.
