The Fatwa Centre of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has approved the zakat nisab, fitr alms and fidya amounts for Ramadan 2026 (1447 AH), the board’s press service reported.

According to the decision, the zakat nisab has been set at 100,000,000 soums, based on the value of approximately 85 grams of 585-grade gold. Accordingly, anyone who possesses at least 85 grams of gold, 100,000,000 soums in cash, or trade goods of equivalent value must give one-fortieth (2.5 percent) of their total wealth as zakat to those in need.

The amounts for fitr alms have been set as follows:

  •  About 2 kg of wheat or its value — 10,000 soums
  •  About 2 kg of wheat flour or its value — 12,000 soums
  •  About 4 kg of barley or its value — 20,000 soums
  •  About 2 kg of raisins or their value — 110,000 soums
  •  About 4 kg of dates or their value — 200,000 soums

Individuals may give any one of these products or their equivalent value as fitr alms according to their means. Fitr should be given during Ramadan before the Eid prayer.

The fidya amount for one day is equal to the fitr alms amount. Therefore, individuals may give any of the listed products or their value as fidya according to their ability.

Earlier, it was reported that Ramadan in Uzbekistan will begin on 19 February this year. It was also announced that 750 billion soums will be allocated to the Waqf Public Charity Foundation and 300 billion soums through the National Agency for Social Protection to support vulnerable populations during Ramadan.
