Over the next three years, Uzbekistan plans to implement 76 projects worth $2.6 billion, focusing on 28 rare minerals. This was announced on March 7 during a presentation on expanding the raw material base for strategically important minerals and increasing value-added production, led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

To achieve these goals, additional funding will be allocated for geological exploration and research to expand the country’s mineral resource base.

The presentation highlighted recent efforts to establish an organizational framework and launch high-value-added production. The Minister of Mining Industry and Geology provided insights into the sector's opportunities.

A key priority is leveraging modern technologies to extract valuable raw materials, enhance their purity, and develop high-value products. For instance, enriching tungsten concentrate from the deposit could double its added value. So far, 18 such projects have been initiated.

To strengthen the “raw materials – processing – science and technology – finished products” value chain, a proposal was made to establish technoparks in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions, known for their molybdenum and tungsten reserves.

President Mirziyoyev instructed officials to conduct industrial experiments, facilitate technology transfer, and establish modern laboratories and training centers. He emphasized the need to lay a strong foundation for Uzbekistan to secure a competitive position in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
