Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Energy

On December 5, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was reported by the president’s press service.
At the beginning of the conversation, the high-ranking guest conveyed the warm greetings of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to the leader of Uzbekistan. The sides discussed strengthening the relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, including cooperation in the energy sector.
It was noted with satisfaction that bilateral relations have been developing at a rapid pace. Since the beginning of this year, mutual trade has increased by 17 percent, and cargo transportation volumes continue to grow. Cooperative projects in key sectors of the economy are being implemented successfully.
Mutually beneficial cooperation has been established in the energy sector as well. Electricity is being supplied and transmitted reliably, and promising projects in green energy are being developed. President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in hydropower and advancing major regional joint projects—most notably, the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1.
Earlier, President Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, Suhail Al Mazrouei, as well as the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar.
