Five Uzbek boxers reach World Championship final

Yesterday, September 12, at the World Boxing Championship hosted in Liverpool, England, eight members of Uzbekistan’s national team entered the ring, with seven of them claiming victory. Of these, five advanced to the final stage.

Quarterfinals:

- 48 kg: Sabina Bobokulova – Giovanna Marchese (Italy) 5:0

- 50 kg: Shodiyorjon Melikuziyev – Soushi Makino (Japan) 2:3

- 85 kg: Akmaljon Isroilov – Ricardo Fresneda (Spain) 5:0

Semifinals:

- 65 kg: Navbahor Hamidova – Nien-Chin (Chinese Taipei) 3:2

- 60 kg: Abdumalik Khalokov – Shunsuke Kitamoto (Japan) 5:0

- 75 kg: Fazliddin Erkinboev – Saidjamshid Jafarov (Azerbaijan) 4:1

- 90 kg: Turabek Habibullaev – Enmanuel Reyes Pla (Spain) 4:1

+90 kg: Jahongir Zokirov – Danabieke Bayikewuzi (China) 5:0

Today, September 13, the semifinal and final bouts will take place. In particular, Fazliddin Erkinboev will enter the ring today to fight for the world championship title. In addition, six more representatives of Uzbekistan will compete in the semifinals.
