Alibek Kabdurakhmonov appointed director of Uzbekistan’s leading theater

On July 29, by the order of Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Alibek Kabdurakhmonov was appointed Director of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Uzbekistan. The appointment was announced by the Ministry of Culture.

An extraordinary meeting was held at the ministry’s headquarters on the same day to address organizational matters. The session was chaired by Minister Nazarbekov and attended by First Deputy Minister Avazkhon Tojikhonov, officials from the central office, and representatives of regional cultural institutions.

During the meeting, Kabdurakhmonov was formally introduced to the theater’s team. His appointment follows the transfer of the former director, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Ramiz Usmonov, to a new position.

Minister Nazarbekov expressed confidence in Kabdurakhmonov’s leadership, saying he believed the new director would apply his expertise and talent to further the development of the national performing arts sector. First Deputy Minister Tojikhonov also extended congratulations and wished him success in his new role.
