Husniddin Aliqulov, defender for the Uzbekistan national team and Turkey’s Rizespor, has undergone surgery due to injury, the Uzbekistan Football Association reported.
According to the statement, Aliqulov was operated on in Rome by renowned surgeon Pier Paolo Marianini. He is currently feeling well and will soon begin the rehabilitation process.
For reference, Aliqulov suffered a serious injury during a match against Göztepe on January 19 and was forced to leave the field.
Medical examinations revealed a torn ACL in his left knee, patellar subluxation, damage to the MPFL ligament, as well as tears in both the medial and lateral menisci, accompanied by bleeding and swelling. His expected return to the field is estimated at six to nine months, making it highly likely that the Uzbek defender will miss the World Cup scheduled for this summer.
Earlier, another national team player, Jaloliddin Masharipov, also underwent surgery due to injury.
