An agreement was signed between U.S.-based Amazon Leo and UZ-SAT JV LLC on the distribution of high-speed satellite internet services in Uzbekistan as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. The Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan reported this.
Amazon Leo’s satellite communication network provides high-speed internet access services. Users will be able to access these services not only in urban areas, but also in remote and hard-to-reach settlements and regions where telecommunications infrastructure is limited or unavailable.
For reference, the Amazon Leo system operates on the basis of a constellation of more than 3,000 satellites interconnected through high-speed optical links and integrated with secure global ground gateway stations, fiber-optic networks and internet exchange points.
Customers can connect to the network through compact, high-performance antennas such as Amazon Leo Nano, Amazon Leo Pro and Amazon Leo Ultra, enabling them to use high-speed broadband internet services almost anywhere in the world.
Earlier, at the Tashkent International Investment Forum, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev described the establishment of a regional alliance of investment councils for Central Asia and the Caucasus, initiated by the Asian Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as an important and timely decision.
