An explosion occurred late on February 11 in an apartment in a multi-story residential building in Andijan city, the regional Emergency Situations Department reported.
According to the statement, at 11:55 p.m. the emergency service received a call via the 112 system about a gas-air mixture flash in an apartment located in the Nodirabegim neighborhood.
Rescue teams and regional emergency officials arrived at the scene. No fire broke out after the blast and neighboring apartments were not damaged. Two people were injured in the incident.
Regional governor Shuhrat Abdurahmonov also visited the site and reviewed the situation.
Earlier, an explosion had been reported in a two-story building in the Tinchlik neighborhood of Karakul district, Bukhara region.
