A hired killer and his accomplices who allegedly agreed to murder a businessman for $1,500 have been detained in the Andijan region, the regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the report, on February 4 this year, a sole proprietor operating in the Andijan region contacted the district police department and said a murder attempt against him was being planned. In his statement, he said an organized criminal group of five had reached an agreement with a contract killer to kill him for $1,500 and requested assistance from law enforcement agencies.
Based on the complaint, a special operation was conducted in the Pakhtaabad district by the regional Department of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, and the regional prosecutor’s office. During the operation, a man born in 2000, who had previously been convicted several times, was detained with evidence while receiving part of the agreed payment — 300,000 soums — for the killing.
Further оператив actions led to the detention of other members of the group. According to investigators, a man born in 1984, known by the nickname “Ronaldo,” led the criminal group. He and several other suspects had prior convictions under various articles, including a head of a medical institution. It was also established that a student born in 2003 had been involved in the criminal activities.
A criminal case has been opened under Articles 25 and 97, Part 2, Clause “p” of the Criminal Code (attempted intentional murder). The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement agencies emphasized that ensuring the safety of citizens, entrepreneurs, and investors remains a priority.
Earlier, reports emerged about a 15-year-old accused of killing a taxi driver in Marseille, France. The teenager was reportedly recruited online by drug dealers, taken to Marseille, given a weapon, and contracted to kill a member of a rival gang. The minor ordered a taxi but, for unknown reasons, argued with the driver and shot him. The organizers later called the police and reported the teenager for failing to carry out the assigned killing.
