One dead in Angren apartment fire

On February 7, a fire broke out in a multi-story residential building in the city of Angren, Tashkent region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the ministry, at 23:19, authorities received a report that the roof of a four-story building in the Dukent settlement, Ulug‘bek neighborhood, was on fire.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene at 23:30, and all residents were safely evacuated from the building. The fire was contained by 23:57 and fully extinguished by 00:50.

It was confirmed that one person died as a result of the fire.

For context, on January 31 of this year, a fire at the Aviator shopping and entertainment center in the Yashnobod district of Tashkent claimed the life of a three-year-old girl. A criminal case was opened under Articles 192-11 (abuse of authority by officials in non-governmental or other non-state organizations) and 259 (violation of fire safety regulations) of the Criminal Code.
