On May 11, during the Uzbek-Iranian Business Forum held in Tehran, Iranian entrepreneurs were invited to take full advantage of the industrial zones in Uzbekistan’s Khorezm and Samarkand regions. This was reported by the press service of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.
The forum was officially opened by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref.
“A thorough analysis of existing potential was carried out, new growth points were identified, and a portfolio of investment projects and trade agreements worth \$1 billion was formed,” the statement noted.
At the event, it was emphasized that Uzbekistan maintains preferential trade arrangements with many countries around the world. Iranian investors were encouraged to explore the favorable conditions offered by the industrial zones in Khorezm and Samarkand.
The forum also highlighted stable trade relations between the two nations. Bilateral trade has reached \$500 million, and the number of joint ventures has surpassed 210.
As a reminder, on April 29–30 of this year, a delegation from the Uzbek government paid a working visit to the Chinese city of Urumqi.
