Georgy Kocharyan has been appointed as Armenia’s new Ambassador to Uzbekistan. The decree was published on the official website of the press service of the President of Armenia.
The relevant decree was signed by Armenian President Vahagn Garnikovich Khachaturyan. The document entered into force upon signing, after which Georgy Kocharyan officially assumed his duties as head of Armenia’s diplomatic mission in Tashkent.
He replaces Aram Grigoryan, who had headed Armenia’s embassy in Uzbekistan since June 2019. During Grigoryan’s tenure, bilateral cooperation between the two countries developed actively in the trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
It is expected that the new Ambassador, Georgy Kocharyan, will continue efforts to further strengthen cooperation between Armenia and Uzbekistan, as well as contribute to expanding political dialogue and developing interaction in international forums.
It is worth noting that earlier Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan, Saad bin Nasser bin Abdullah Abu Haimed.
