Reports have circulated on social media claiming that those indebted for waste collection services are being disconnected from electricity. According to the Ministry of Energy, citizens who have outstanding debts receive a warning, and if the debt is not settled afterward, they will be unable to make electricity payments.
The ministry clarified that consumers with waste-related debts are not directly disconnected from the power supply. Instead, if such consumers fail to settle their debts within five days after receiving an SMS notification from the short number 2100 of ’’Hududiy Elektr Tarmoqlari’’ JSC, a temporary restriction is imposed preventing them from making electricity payments.
It was stated that once the consumer settles the waste debt, the temporary restriction is lifted immediately.
It is worth noting that earlier, electricity payment restrictions were temporarily imposed on 6,000 subscribers who had debts for waste collection services in Tashkent. Starting from December this year, this procedure will also be introduced in other regions of the country.
