Strong winds and dust storms may be observed in some parts of Uzbekistan, including Tashkent city, today, June 16. The Tashkent city administration reported this.
Residents and visitors of the capital have been urged to follow precautionary measures.
In particular, they are advised:
- not to stay in open areas during strong winds unless necessary;
- not to stand near trees, advertising structures, power lines or lightweight structures;
- not to leave vehicles under trees or other unsecured structures;
- to keep windows closed as much as possible during dust storms.
Earlier, it was reported that mudflows and flooding may occur in the foothill and mountainous areas of Uzbekistan due to expected rainfall on June 16-19 this year.
