Uzbekistan has ranked 82nd in the global passport index, which is based on the number of countries its citizens can enter without a visa. The updated index was published by the company Henley & Partners.
Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan holds the highest position, 67th place, with its citizens able to visit 78 countries visa-free. The ranking of other countries in the region is as follows:
- Kyrgyzstan – 81st (62 countries)
- Uzbekistan – 82nd (61 countries)
- Tajikistan – 87th (55 countries)
- Turkmenistan – 93rd (48 countries)
Singapore continues to lead the global ranking. The United States, meanwhile, has fallen out of the top ten for the first time, taking 12th place. Russia’s passport also dropped in the ranking, from 46th to 50th place, now positioned just below Venezuela and Moldova.
It is worth noting that Asian countries occupy the top three spots in the new ranking: Singapore ranks first (its citizens can enter 193 out of 227 destinations visa-free), followed by South Korea in second place (190 countries) and Japan in third (189 countries).

According to Henley & Partners, for the first time since the creation of the Henley Passport Index, the United States has fallen out of the world’s top ten most powerful passports. In 2014, the country ranked first, but it now shares 12th place with Malaysia.
It should be recalled that earlier, the government of Montenegro revoked the visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan, which had been introduced in 2023. The decision was explained by the country’s efforts to align with the European Union’s accession criteria under Chapter 24.
