Citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to work in Italy for seasonal jobs ranging from three to nine months, according to the Migration Agency.

It was reported that an important agreement was signed to facilitate the employment of Uzbek citizens in Italy’s agricultural sector. The signing ceremony was attended by Behzod Musaev, Minister of Agriculture Ibrohim Abdurahmonov, Italy’s Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, and Vice President of Confagricoltura, Luca Brondelli.

The parties reached key agreements on employing Uzbek workers in Italy’s agricultural sector. In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Migration Agency and Associazione Imprese Ortofrutticole.

Under the agreement, Uzbek citizens will be recruited for seasonal work in Italy for periods ranging from three to nine months.

For reference, the association объединяет more than 35 major companies in Italy’s fruit and vegetable sector, covering the entire agro-industrial chain from farming to processing, logistics, and export. Its main products include apples, kiwis, pomegranates, and strawberries.

According to the association’s president, Marco Salvi, 100 Uzbek workers are expected to be employed this year as part of a pilot project.

It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that Uzbek citizens may also be recruited for seasonal work in the United States.
