Uzhydromet has issued the weather forecast for tomorrow, May 16, with extreme heat expected across much of Uzbekistan.
In Tashkent, the weather will be partly cloudy with no precipitation. Winds will blow from the east at 3–8 m/s. Temperatures will range from 22–24°C at night to 39–41°C during the day.
In the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region, the weather will be partly cloudy and variable in places, with no precipitation expected. However, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some areas of Karakalpakstan during the evening. Eastern winds will blow at 7–12 m/s, occasionally increasing to 13–18 m/s and may be accompanied by dust. Nighttime temperatures will range from 20–25°C, and daytime highs will reach 33–38°C.
In the Bukhara and Navoi regions, conditions will be partly cloudy and dry. Winds from the east will reach 7–12 m/s, increasing locally to 13–18 m/s, and may carry dust. Night temperatures will range from 20–25°C, while daytime temperatures are forecast to soar to 38–43°C.
In Tashkent, Syrdarya, Jizzakh, and Samarkand regions, the weather will be partly cloudy and variable, with no precipitation expected. Easterly winds will blow at 7–12 m/s, increasing in places to 13–18 m/s with possible dust. Temperatures will range from 19–24°C at night to 36–41°C during the day.
In the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, skies will be mostly clear with some local variability and no expected precipitation. Easterly winds will reach 7–12 m/s. Temperatures will range from 20–25°C at night to 38–43°C during the day.
In the Andijan, Namangan, and Fergana regions, the weather will be mostly clear with some localized changes and no precipitation. Winds will blow from the east at 5–10 m/s. Night temperatures will be between 18–23°C, and daytime highs will reach 35–40°C.
In the mountainous areas of the country, the weather will be partly cloudy and variable in places, with no expected precipitation. Eastern winds will blow at 7–12 m/s, increasing in some areas to 13–18 m/s. Temperatures will range from 13–18°C at night to 28–33°C during the day.
It should be recalled that Uzhydromet had previously warned of a significant heatwave across Uzbekistan from May 14 to 16.
