Dismissed school principal in Fergana reinstated after following official order

Earlier reports said that teachers at a school in Buvayda district of Fergana region were forced to remain on duty day and night. Following this, H.N., who had been serving as acting principal of Secondary School No. 37 in the district, was dismissed from his post based on an order issued by the regional Department of Preschool and School Education. It later emerged that the instruction to involve teachers in round-the-clock duty had been given by the ministry itself. The principal who was dismissed for carrying out this instruction has now been reinstated. This was reported by the State Labour Inspectorate.

According to the report, the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of the principal of Secondary School No. 37 in Buvayda district were reviewed by the State Labour Inspectorate.

The review found that the Fergana regional Department of Preschool and School Education had violated labour legislation by dismissing the school principal. Based on a written instruction issued by the inspectorate, the department’s Order No. 1-k dated January 6, 2026, was revoked.

What happened?

At the beginning of the year, reports circulated on social media claiming that teachers at a school in Buvayda district of Fergana region were being forced to remain on duty around the clock. Later, the regional Department of Preschool and School Education issued an official response, stating that the acting principal of Secondary School No. 37, H.N., had assigned duties to the teaching staff that were not part of their official responsibilities, requiring them to perform duty shifts in violation of existing regulations. It was also reported that, based on the department’s order dated January 6, H.N. was dismissed from his position as acting principal.

Subsequently, it became known that the instruction to involve teachers in day-and-night duty had been issued by the ministry itself. A directive letter sent to educational institutions was circulated on social media, requesting the establishment of 24-hour continuous duty shifts and the operation of territorial штабs from December 25, 2025, to January 5, 2026.
