Statues of Babur to be erected in Islamabad and Andijan

Statues of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur will be erected in Islamabad, Pakistan, and in the city of Babur in Andijan region. This was announced during a presentation of construction projects in various sectors reviewed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today, May 20.
According to the information, the head of state was presented with a project to install a grand statue dedicated to Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, the great statesman, military commander and poet, as part of an architectural ensemble to be built in the city of Babur in Andijan region.

Special attention is being paid to creating the monument with deep meaning and a strong artistic concept in order to properly honor the memory of the great ancestor and convey to the younger generation his rich scientific and literary heritage, statesmanship and invaluable contribution to world civilization.
The President was informed about sketches of the future statue, its compositional design and scientific and artistic approaches to depicting Babur’s image. It was noted that the image of the great historical figure is being created based on studies conducted by Uzbek scholars in cooperation with foreign colleagues, as well as a thorough examination of numerous historical sources, manuscripts, miniatures and examples of cultural heritage.
At the same time, during the President’s state visit to Pakistan, one of the parks in Islamabad was named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. The project to install a statue of Babur in this park was also reviewed.
The head of state stressed that, in creating the monuments, Babur’s image should be deeply reflected not only as a great writer and poet, but also as a skilled military commander, the founder of a powerful state and a wise ruler. It was noted that his willpower, state-building potential, high spirituality and creative ideas should be clearly expressed in the overall appearance of the statue.

The President was also briefed on projects being developed to improve the material and technical base of the Abu Rayhon Beruni International Boarding School, develop tourism and transport infrastructure in Bukhara, and modernize cultural centers in districts.
The head of state gave instructions to further improve the projects and develop them thoroughly based on best practices.
