Traffic was temporarily restricted on the Kamchik Pass today, May 22, due to heavy rainfall, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to the ministry, at around 1:30 p.m., heavy rain on the Kamchik Pass section of the A-373 international highway caused mudflows mixed with rocks to come down from the mountains. As a result, the Valley-Tashkent direction of the road was temporarily closed to vehicles.
“At the moment, specialists from relevant organizations, under the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, are working to eliminate the consequences of the situation, and vehicle traffic is being managed,” the statement said.
