1.4 billion soums’ worth of gas illegally used in Qarshi

A person has been detained in Qarshi district of Kashkadarya Region for illegally using natural gas, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
During a law-enforcement operation, citizen S.E. was found to have directly connected a greenhouse set up at his home in the Shoikhuja neighbourhood to the public natural gas network, illegally using gas worth 1.4 billion soums.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 169 of the Criminal Code (theft), and investigative actions have begun.
Earlier, authorities reported the illegal use of natural gas worth 9.8 billion soums in a multi-storey building in Khorezm Region’s Hazorasp district.
