Kyrgyzstan has accused Russia of failing to fulfill agreements related to labor migrants. It became known today, January 27, that the country has filed a claim with the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in connection with this matter. This was reported by 24kg.

According to the publication, the filing of the lawsuit was announced by Azamat Mukanov, Chairman of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, during a discussion of a new draft law at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Members of the committee inquired about the progress of efforts to provide insurance policies for labor migrants working in Russia in order to ensure access to medical care. Azamat Mukanov stated that an agreement concerning labor migrants exists among the five member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.

“However, at present, the Russian side is violating Articles 96–97 of this agreement, namely by refusing to issue mandatory health insurance policies to family members of labor migrants. The Kyrgyz Republic has filed a claim with the EAEU Court, court proceedings are underway, and a decision is expected within two weeks. We also raised this issue when Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk visited Kyrgyzstan,” he added.

It is worth noting that earlier reports stated that over the course of 11 months in 2025, Russian regions allocated 828.5 million rubles for the purchase of airline tickets to administratively deport foreign citizens from the country.
