Today, May 24, at 05:25 Tashkent time, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the Republican Center for Seismological Monitoring.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 281 kilometers southeast of Tashkent, in the Jalal-Abad region of the Kyrgyz Republic. The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, with coordinates of 41.23° north latitude and 72.58° east longitude. The intensity at the epicenter was measured at 4 points.
The tremors were felt in several areas of Uzbekistan with the following intensities:
- Pakhtaabad district: 2–3 points (32 km from epicenter)
- Izboskan district: 2 points (45 km)
- Uchkurgan district: 2 points (45 km)
- Andijan district: 2 points (49 km)
- Andijan city: 2 points (53 km)
- Jalakuduk district: 2 points (56 km)
- Korgontepa district: 2 points (58 km)
- Norin district: 2 points (58 km)
- Khanabad district: 2 points (59 km)
- Oltinkol district: 2 points (60 km)
It is worth recalling that a 3.4-magnitude earthquake occurred earlier in Kyrgyzstan and was felt in the Pakhtaabad district of Andijan region.
