All preschool educational institutions in the Khojaly district of Karakalpakstan will temporarily suspend operations from July 16 to 18 due to extreme heat. This decision was made by the district governor in response to the forecast of dangerously high temperatures.

According to the order, all state-run kindergartens in the district will halt activities for three days to ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff.

This move follows a warning from Uzhydromet, which forecast the arrival of very hot air masses from the south between July 17 and 19. On July 17, air temperatures are expected to reach 40–43 degrees Celsius in the northern, southern, and desert regions of the country. From July 18 to 20, temperatures are predicted to rise to 44–45 degrees in some southern and desert areas.

The temporary suspension of kindergartens in Khojaly is seen as a preventive measure to protect children from the adverse effects of the ongoing heatwave.
