Sherzod Qudbiyev resigns as Head of the State Tax Committee

Sherzod Qudbiyev has been relieved of his duties as Chairman of the State Tax Committee as of November 20, the Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov reported.

According to the announcement, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree appointing Sherzod Davlatovich Qudbiyev as Chairman of the newly established National Committee for Urbanization and Sustainable Housing Market Development. Consequently, he has stepped down from his role as head of the State Tax Committee.

For background, Sherzod Qudbiyev was born on April 12, 1981, in the Fergana region. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2000 and a master’s degree from Fergana Polytechnic Institute in 2002.

  • From 2002 to 2007, he worked at Fergana Polytechnic Institute;
  • from 2007 to 2010, at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population;
  • from 2010 to 2012 and again from 2015 to 2016, at the Cabinet of Ministers;
  • from 2012 to 2015, as Director of the Republican Scientific Center for Employment, Labor Protection, and Social Protection of the Population.
  • From 2016 to 2018, as the head of Mirzo Ulugbek District in Tashkent;
  • From 2018 to 2019, he was Minister of Employment and Labor Relations;
  • from 2019 to 2020, Advisor to the President;
  • from 2020 to 2022, Chairman of the State Tax Committee;
  • from January to July 2023, Minister of Economy and Finance;
  • and from August 2023 until his recent reassignment, Chairman of the State Tax Committee.
