Cannavaro meets Masharipov and Aliqulov in Italy

Uzbekistan national team head coach Fabio Cannavaro met Jaloliddin Masharipov and Husniddin Aliqulov in Italy, where the players are undergoing rehabilitation, the Uzbekistan Football Association reported.

Husniddin Aliqulov suffered a serious injury during a match against Goztepe on January 19 and was forced to leave the pitch.

Medical examinations revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee, patellar subluxation, damage to the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL), as well as tears in both the medial and lateral meniscus accompanied by bleeding and swelling. His return to the pitch is estimated to take six to nine months. The defender underwent surgery in Rome performed by renowned surgeon Pier Paolo Mariani.

Another national team player, Jaloliddin Masharipov of Iran’s Esteghlal, also underwent surgery due to injury. Both players are currently in Italy for rehabilitation.
