From July 1, 2026, Uzbekistan will implement a proactive system for sharing information collected at the state border with foreign tourists, based on their consent. This will involve a tourist electronic SIM card and temporary accommodation registration. The initiative was outlined in the presidential decree signed today, November 20, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, titled “On the Organization of the Activities of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Measures for the Accelerated Development of the Tourism Sector.”
Additionally, the upcoming national tourism unified platform and its mobile application will provide the following features:
- Regardless of ownership type, all modes of transportation will be integrated, allowing tourists to plan travel routes, choose optimal paths and transport types, and book and purchase tickets online.
- A unified ticketing system will be introduced, enabling the online purchase of tickets for all tourism facilities where ticketing is implemented, including museums, cultural heritage sites, cultural, entertainment, and leisure facilities.
- A digital guide system will be launched, offering information about tourist sites through interactive maps, tablets, audio and video assistants, and online broadcasts to support excursions.
- Tourist (hotel) fees collected from foreign and domestic tourists by accommodation providers will be automatically transferred directly to the Fund via a billing system.
- Residents renting out country houses will be able to register simplified stays through the “Soliq” mobile application under the “with me” option, indicating the number of accompanying guests under a single person’s name.
By the end of 2026, the national tourism unified platform will integrate with the “Safe City” hardware-software complex. This integration will enable analysis of tourist flows across regions (by category) and their preferences, creation of personalized routes and offers, and the implementation of an artificial intelligence and big data analytics system to support pricing and resource allocation decisions.
