In Khorezm region, criminal cases have been opened and arrest measures applied against three individuals known by the nicknames “Jommi Darital,” “Malish,” and “Rasul Qilich,” who had effectively turned themselves into so-called “street authorities.” The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
According to the report, a 30-year-old resident of Urgench district, known among acquaintances and local residents by the nickname “Jommi Darital,” stopped a young man in the area of the central farmers’ market in Urgench city and beat him without any legitimate reason, using various pretexts.
After the victim filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies and a preliminary inquiry was launched, “Jommi Darital” allegedly attempted to exert psychological and physical pressure on the victim. He was subsequently detained by оператив officers. During an on-the-spot search, officers found that he was illegally carrying marijuana weighing 3 grams, which was seized and documented as physical evidence in accordance with established procedures.
In another incident, a 29-year-old resident of Bagat district, known by the nickname “Malish” and previously convicted of hooliganism, reportedly used his involvement in boxing as a means of asserting physical dominance over others. On January 18, after a young man born in 1998 failed to come to a face-to-face meeting he had requested, the suspect went to the victim’s residence. Despite resistance, he entered the home, assaulted the victim by striking him on various parts of the body, and deliberately inflicted bodily injuries, committing an act of hooliganism.
In addition, a 35-year-old resident of Khiva known as “Rasul Qilich,” who worked as an informal taxi driver, began pursuing an acquaintance who operated on the Khiva–Urgench route on January 13. He blocked the driver’s path, forced the vehicle to stop, and assaulted him. A man who arrived at the scene to break up the altercation was also beaten.
Based on these incidents, criminal cases have been initiated against the suspects under Article 277, Part 3 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code. In addition, the Urgench resident known as “Jommi Darital” has been charged under Article 276, Part 2 (illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, or other handling of narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances without intent to sell). Preliminary investigative actions are currently underway, and the suspects have been placed under arrest as a preventive measure.
Earlier, it was reported that in Andijan region, an individual known by the nickname “Shayton” and his accomplices were detained for threatening people with weapons and extorting large sums of money.
