Currently, there is no permission to construct methane gas stations, and existing stations are unable to receive gas supplies. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev during a meeting with entrepreneurs in the Republic of Karakalpakstan on February 6.
During the discussion, an entrepreneur from Amudaryo district said he planned to build electric, gas, and gasoline stations for vehicles. He had acquired 40 sotok of land and had all the necessary equipment ready but faced difficulties obtaining approval from the Ministry of Energy specifically for a methane gas station. He requested assistance in resolving the issue.
Deputy Prime Minister Khojayev replied that even the existing methane gas stations cannot receive gas supplies. He questioned Farhod Ermanov, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, asking whether entrepreneurs had been informed of this limitation.
Khojayev emphasized that constructing a methane gas station at this time would be unprofitable: “Even if you build it, your money will just sit there. You won’t get methane. You should not start construction. Why hasn’t the local administration told you this?”
For reference, on January 20, methane gas stations were temporarily restricted from operating due to low temperatures. From February 2, stations resumed activity from 10:00 to 16:00.
