Today, May 1, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of Al-Khwarizmi town, which is currently being built near Urgench International Airport. The visit was reported by the President’s press service.

The town is being developed on an area of more than 130 hectares. A monument dedicated to the great scholar Al-Khwarizmi will be installed at the center of the town. The President also reviewed the design of this monument, which will be placed at the entrance to a 20-hectare park within the town. The statue itself will stand 22 meters tall, and with its foundation, it will exceed 30 meters in height. Authorities were instructed to enhance the monument both artistically and conceptually, as well as to increase green spaces throughout the town.

In addition, a branch of the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi School in Tashkent will be established in the town. Graduates of the 4th grade will be selected for enrollment, and the final two years of their studies will focus on foundational engineering training.

The Al-Khwarizmi town will also include a technopark and office spaces, medical and cultural centers, public squares, schools and kindergartens, sports complexes, shopping centers, and residential buildings.

It is worth recalling that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev previously arrived in the Khorezm region to assess regional development, understand the living conditions of the population, and outline new long-term plans.
