Service companies have paid more than 30 trillion soums in taxes, while mobile communication operators have significantly reduced their tax contributions. This is stated in a report published by the Tax Committee.

According to the data, in January–September 2025, a total of 161,351 service-sector legal entities paid over 30.1 trillion soums in taxes. Of this amount, more than 5.3 trillion soums — or 17.8 percent — came from just 20 major companies. Their combined turnover reached 65.2 trillion soums, while the value of utilized tax benefits amounted to 5.7 trillion soums.

During this period, Asia Trans Gas led in total tax payments, contributing over 1.05 trillion soums. It was followed by Uztelecom (848 billion soums) and Uzbekistan Airways (633 billion soums). Uzbekistan Railways ranked fourth with 492 billion soums, while Unitel placed fifth with 292 billion soums.

Economist Otabek Bakirov also drew attention to the sharp reduction in tax payments by mobile operators.

Comparing the first nine months of 2025 with the same period in 2024, tax payments decreased as follows:

Uztelecom: from 1 trillion 60.7 billion soums to 848.1 billion soums;
Unitel LLC: from 474.4 billion soums to 292.1 billion soums;
Coscom LLC: from 322.7 billion soums to 224.2 billion soums;
UMS LLC: from 286.8 billion soums to 158.6 billion soums.

According to the economist, this trend may be linked to the abolition of excise tax for mobile operators. As a result, telecom companies are now paying less in taxes while retaining more profit.

Earlier, it was reported that an investigation had been launched into the recent price increases for services provided by mobile network operators in Uzbekistan.
