A 30-year-old Uzbek man was arrested in Moscow for 14 days for wearing a cap featuring the inscription "AUE" and an eight-pointed star, symbols banned in Russia. This was reported by Ostorozno, Moscow.

The man was reportedly seen wearing the cap with "AUE," a symbol associated with the "Criminal Union of Prisoners" movement, in a public place. Police detained him at a metro station.

"The cap was confiscated, and the man was charged under Article 20.3 for the public display of fascist symbols. He will soon be transferred to a special detention facility," the report stated.

For context, the "AUE" inscription is banned in Russia because it promotes ideologies tied to prison rules and informal criminal concepts that prioritize illicit behaviors over legal authority.

This incident comes after a similar case last summer when a Russian citizen of Uzbek origin, H.A., was fined 50,000 rubles for wearing a T-shirt with the Ukrainian coat of arms, which was seen as critical of the war.
