Man detained in Namangan for storing drugs at home

A resident of Chust district in Namangan region has been detained for storing narcotic substances at his home, the regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the information, the house of a resident of the Buloqbashi neighborhood in Chust district was searched in the presence of witnesses. As a result, five one-liter and three half-liter glass containers were found in the basement of the house, sealed and wrapped in black plastic bags, and placed inside a wooden box. The carefully concealed containers were found to contain 787 grams of marijuana and 1.77 grams of poppy-based narcotic substances.
In connection with the incident, the suspect was detained in accordance with procedural requirements. A criminal case has been opened against him by the investigative division of the Chust District Department of Internal Affairs under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code (illegal production, acquisition, storage, and other actions involving narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances with intent to distribute, as well as their illegal distribution). Preliminary investigative actions are currently underway.
It is worth noting that earlier it was reported that a person who had set up a narcotics laboratory at home was detained in Khojaobod district of Andijan region.
