Drug dealer and accomplice detained

In Tashkent, a 46-year-old man involved in drug trafficking and his accomplice were detained while selling hashish, with material evidence seized. The State Security Service reported the incident.

According to the report, during a special operation conducted in the Chinaz District of Tashkent Region, a resident of Bekabad born in 1980, who had previously been convicted for drug-related offenses, was caught selling 200 grams of hashish to a conditional buyer for 50 million soums.

The operation continued, and the suspect was detained again while handing over 6.9 million soums from the proceeds to his accomplice, a fellow resident born in 1989. During a search, officers discovered 500 grams of hashish on the second suspect.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects under Article 273 of Uzbekistan’s Criminal Code, which covers the illegal production, acquisition, storage, and sale of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances with intent to distribute. Investigative actions are currently underway.

Earlier, it was reported that drug dealers and individuals organizing illegal gambling activities were detained during special operations conducted in the Khorezm and Andijan regions.
