Uzbek boxer Khamidova reaches World Championship Final in Serbia

The World Boxing Championships in Serbia witnessed the semi-final bouts today, March 15, where Uzbek boxer Navbahor Khamidova secured her spot in the final.
Competing in the -66 kg weight category, Khamidova faced Russia’s Albina Moldajanova in the semi-final. She claimed a hard-fought 4:3 victory, earning her place in the championship final.
It is noteworthy that Navbahor Khamidova has made history as the first Uzbek female boxer to ever reach the final of a World Championship.
Additionally, three other Uzbek female boxers competed in semi-final matches:
- In the -48 kg category, Farzona Fozilova lost to Russia’s Yuliya Chumagalakova and earned a bronze medal.
- In the -50 kg category, Sabina Bobokulova was defeated by China’s Xu Meiyi and also secured a bronze medal.
- In the -52 kg category, Feruza Kazakova fell to North Korea’s Pang Chol Mi and concluded her championship with a bronze medal.
For reference, the final bouts are scheduled to take place tomorrow, March 16.
