Uzbek citizen dies in traffic accident in Novosibirsk

A serious traffic accident involving trucks driven by Uzbek nationals occurred in the Novosibirsk region, Russia, the Uzbek Consulate in Novosibirsk reported.
The crash happened on the night of October 16 at 1:20 am in the Orda district. A Renault Sandero, driven by a 39-year-old woman, veered into the oncoming lane on the ’’Novosibirsk – Kochki – Pavlodar’’ road and collided with a DAF truck. The impact caused the DAF driver to lose control and collide head-on with a Volvo truck coming from the opposite direction.
As a result of the accident, the 42-year-old Uzbek DAF driver was killed on the scene. The Volvo driver, a 55-year-old Uzbek national, sustained injuries of varying severity and was hospitalized.
A video showing the aftermath of the traffic accident in Novosibirsk has circulated on social media. In the footage, a witness speaking Uzbek describes observing the collision between the trucks. The DAF truck involved carried the number 85 (Navoi region), while the Volvo truck bore the number 40 (Fergana region).
The deceased driver is being held at the morgue of the Central District Hospital in Orda, Novosibirsk region. The second truck driver, who sustained injuries in the crash, is also receiving medical treatment at the same hospital.
At the scene, an investigative and emergency response team, along with road safety inspectors, is working to establish the full circumstances of the accident.
’’The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk is closely monitoring the situation and maintaining constant contact with the Novosibirsk regional traffic police and other law enforcement agencies,’’ the statement said.
