In addition, the monthly salaries of contract-based rank-and-file soldiers and sergeants will be increased by 10 percent. This was announced today, January 13, during an expanded meeting of the Security Council chaired by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to strengthening the country’s military security and defense.

“Valuing the service of military personnel and ensuring social protection for their family members and military pensioners must always remain at the center of our attention,” the president said, announcing major changes in this area.

In particular, starting from April 1, the length-of-service allowance for officers of the Ministry of Defense will be increased twofold. The monthly salaries of rank-and-file soldiers and sergeants serving on a contract basis will be raised by 10 percent.

The salaries of civilian employees of territorial defense departments and units will be increased by 20 percent this year and by an additional 50 percent next year.

For military personnel who have served more than 30 years in the Armed Forces, the portion of monthly pay taken into account when calculating pensions will be increased from 75 percent to 100 percent.

At the same time, housing construction for military personnel will be expanded. Responsible officials have been instructed to draft a law regulating pension provision for military personnel and submit it to parliament.
