A polyclinic in Urgut district of Samarkand Region, built half a century ago and later left in a deplorable condition, has been renovated. The facility had previously been inspected by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration.

Built in 1972, Family Polyclinic No. 21 in the Bahrin neighborhood of Urgut district was the only medical facility serving residents of 16 villages, or more than 13,000 people. The building had not undergone major repairs for more than half a century.

Doctors had been forced to receive patients in difficult conditions, with damp walls, a leaking roof and poorly maintained rooms. Despite this, thousands of people relied on the facility because they had no other option. The situation was studied on site by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, in December 2025.

As a result of the attention being paid to the healthcare system at the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the facility has now been completely renewed. The polyclinic has been fully reconstructed, an additional building has been constructed, and a new 20-bed maternity department has been established.

Earlier, it was reported that Saida Mirziyoyeva visited Samarkand Region and inspected the family polyclinic, which had been completely rebuilt on the president’s instructions.
