From Artikkhodjayev to Hoshimov: The President awards a group of entrepreneurs

On August 20, in New Tashkent, a ceremony was held to present state awards to a group of entrepreneurs. The event followed a presidential decree issued on August 18 honoring business leaders who contribute to strengthening Uzbekistan’s economy, boosting exports, and creating jobs. The President’s press service reported the news.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the attendees on Entrepreneurs’ Day and the upcoming Independence Day.

“I am glad to see leading entrepreneurs, the most progressive representatives of our society, at today’s ceremony. When we began major reforms in this area, there was fear among both economists and entrepreneurs themselves. But with confidence and courage, we did not stop creating opportunities. We made officials listen to entrepreneurs. This bore fruit — trust between the state and business grew, and society as a whole began to see entrepreneurs as partners,” said the President.

It was noted that entrepreneurs are advancing many sectors with new ideas and initiatives, while major national programs are being implemented together with them.

“We have created conditions for entrepreneurship, and they have become partners with the state. Over the past four to five years, 7.5 million people have been employed. This year alone, more than 3 million jobs have been created. Such results would not have been possible without improving the investment and business climate,” Mirziyoyev emphasized.

The President highlighted that entrepreneurs are now a driving force in generating income across sectors of the economy, especially in rural areas. The training of hundreds of thousands of young people and women in entrepreneurship was also cited as a result of cooperation with business.

“The formation of a new generation of entrepreneurs in our country is a great achievement. Each entrepreneur leads dozens of people, provides them with jobs, creates profit, and brings innovation into society. It is fair to call you the heroes of New Uzbekistan,” the Head of State declared.

Following the tradition established at the initiative of the President, advanced entrepreneurs are awarded state honors every year. This year, candidates were selected for their exemplary achievements in their fields, tangible results, and contributions to the development of regions and the national economy through production and exports.

At the ceremony, Mirziyoyev personally presented the awards. The recipients expressed gratitude to the President for his constant support and attention to the entrepreneurial sector. Representatives of government institutions, public organizations, scientists, and intellectuals also attended the event.

It is worth noting that earlier today, the President signed a decree “On measures to implement the tasks set during the fifth open dialogue of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with entrepreneurs.”
